About Me

1

People seek therapy for a number of reasons, often because they feel 'stuck' in unproductive patterns and don't know how to move forward toward a more satisfying life. You may be seeking therapy because you are suffering with a biologically based mental illness, such as depression, psychological distress, conflict in your relationships, or out of a desire for deeper understanding of yourself and more authentic connections with others. I believe that through a genuine, validating connection with a therapist you can begin to find the key to a more peaceful, fulfilling life.

I believe in working with each individual and family in a non-judgmental, direct, and collaborative way. My aim is to help clients foster a better understanding of themselves as individuals and how they relate to others, and through this understanding, make the changes needed to live a more fulfilling, engaged life.

After receiving my Bachelors degree in Psychology from San Diego State University in 1993 I went on to receive my Masters degree in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling from the University of San Diego in 1997.
I am licensed as an LMFT in both California, Colorado, and Texas. Since graduating, I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, including hospital based psychiatric clinics, community based mental health clinics, school based mental health clinics, and most recently in private practice. My previous work has included crisis management, assessment and treatment of individuals with severe mental illness, and treatment of children with learning, behavior, and developmental disabilities.
